The full dope on iOS 4.1

ImageLast week's announcements from Apple about plans for iOS 4.1 and it's imminent release got everyone thinking about what's in store for iPhone owners all over the world. The free update will fix a number of bugs (including the persistent proximity sensor issues), but will also bring a whole lot of cool new features. For instance, iPhone 4 users will get to make good use of that high definition camera with iOS 4.1 loaded as well as being able to upload high def video over wifi.

RTS Gameboard wants to let you control Starcraft II from your iPhone/IPad

An interesting and potentially cool (or lame) bit of news on an emerging tech that's due on the iPhone and iPad soon: RTS Gameboard is an app which allows you to control Starcraft II from your Apple mobile device. Log in to the server, set your game up, but put the mouse and keyboard aside and control the action from your Apple mobile device. What's nice is that the price discounts are pretty decent and lets you save a few bucks for those textbooks you aren't really going to read. Here's a list for your consideration:

ImageIf there's one thing gamers have a lot of, it's ingenuity, and it shows in this iPhone mod in which the Apple phone is made into a pinball machine.

I hope you're all happy: Angry Birds - The Movie

ImageRovio, the Finnish publisher of the insanely successful game Angry Birds, has got their eye on Hollywood. Or something. Following 6.5 million downloads of the app (in which you throw birds at buildings to try and knock them over), Rovio thinks it could easily translate into a movie, toys or comic books.

Ten classic games brought back to life on the iPhone

ImageWith the iPhone having planted itself firmly in the world as a pretty darned good gaming solution, it's become something of an interesting side effect that older games which have seen their day on the PC (or Mac) are back again on the smaller screen to be played by a new generation.

Sony PSP Commercials Mock iPhone Gaming

As the Apple iPhone has ascended into the ranks of Big Time Serious Game Platform, shots and barbs from rivals are all but inevitable... like the latest PSP commercial from Sony. In it, Sony says that the phone isn't designed for "Big Boy Games", and a mouthy African American kids berates a clueless white guy.

Et voila...
