Windows 7 phone ad talking "revolution"

Microsoft has released its first ad for the Windows 7 phone to get ready for its upcoming launch... and here it is now:

The full dope on iOS 4.1

ImageLast week's announcements from Apple about plans for iOS 4.1 and it's imminent release got everyone thinking about what's in store for iPhone owners all over the world. The free update will fix a number of bugs (including the persistent proximity sensor issues), but will also bring a whole lot of cool new features. For instance, iPhone 4 users will get to make good use of that high definition camera with iOS 4.1 loaded as well as being able to upload high def video over wifi.

Apple Announces New iPods, iOS 4.1, iOS 4.2, and More Apple TV

Today was a big one, folks: Apple's Steve Jobs stood in front of the world this Wednesday in his inimitable manner to let a few cats out of bags. New iPods, new Apple TV, new iTunes, and not one but two updates for iOS... to arrive on both iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch alike. Today on the stage at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center, the next generation of Apple awesome was revealed.

MacGamer talks about the iPad's competition

News imageToday, MacGamer takes a look at what's in store for the new crop of tables that are popping up and challenging the iPad's supremacy in the market. Can Apple be beaten and have its crown stolen from them? Yes, they sure can. Will it happen? No. No it won't.

Three reasons why the iPad's competition is doomed (for now)

Feature Preview

The iPad made a brilliant debut early in 2010, much to the surprise of the tech industry (and maybe even Apple). The little gadget from Cupertino with the iPhone interface has sold well into the millions and left all competition at the starting gate.

Apple Releases OS X Security Fixes

Today Apple released an OS X update for OS X which addresses security-related issues, simply entitled Security Update 2010-005. Specifically, a "heap buffer overflow" issue in the way CoreGraphics handles PDFs creates an exploitable security hole (didn't they just fix one of these on iOS?). The vulnerability could allow "unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution" when opening a PDF file. There's also a malicious font issue (something I rarely get to say), but that's all fixed now.

Will we be seeing a touch screen on the iMac?

ImageTouch devices such as the iPhone and iPad have done a lot for Apple's bottom line, and now it looks like there could be another addition to the touchable device family: The iMac. Apple has filed a patent for touch-screen technology which could be used on the iMac - the cornerstone of their personal computing empire.

2011: The Year of Mac Gaming?

It's no secret that, among gamers everywhere, the Macintosh has been far from synonymous with quality gaming. Is the revolution we've been expecting finally upon us? Valve seems to think so: They're saying that, thanks to their game store/community called Steam, next year will see a renaissance among Mac gaming that'll change the landscape permanently (and they're not the only ones who think so).

iPhone users have more sex. With whom, I'm not sure.

ImageTrust me when I tell you that nobody's more surprised than me, but iPhone users reportedly have more sex than everyone else. According to Ign.com, those of us with Apple's "it" phone are getting way more action of the carnal variety, and the Blackberry or Android folks are left holding their USB jacks.
