iPhone 4 not dropping calls outside of the US?

ImageAs much as I'd love to never hear the word "Antenna" again for the rest of my life, an interesting review of the iPhone 4 (that seems to be corroborated by several other reviews) states that the iPhone 4 isn't having antenna problems outside of the US.

What does a post-Antennagate Apple look like?

ImageThe smoke has cleared since Apple's July 16th press conference to address issues with the iPhone 4's antenna which is proven to have problems when the item is held the wrong way... but what comes next? Apple has since offered both a free case to anyone who owns an iPhone 4 as well as a full refund if they still aren't happy... and so it might seem as if the matter is closed, but The Mac Observer has some thoughts about what the next chapter for Apple could be.

Apple Addresses iPhone 4 Antenna Issues

After weeks of either silence or bumbling, confusing statements, Apple finally stood up and dealt with the iPhone 4 issues today in a press conference at the Apple campus in Cupertino.  In doing so, he sheds some lights on Apple's data, observations, plans and intentions. Ready to reconcile with the media and almost (but not quite) contrite, Jobs laid out Apple's cards.

iOS 4.0.1 Beta Now Available

The arrival of a point release - beta, no less - isn't usually news, except in this case iOS 4.1 may herald the end to Apple's headache associated with the beleaguered iPhone 4 antenna problems which have dogged it since its release. According to Apple, the problem with the antenna is due to a software issue and the incorrect of bars indicating signal strength. As the entire world rolled its eyes and said "Yeah, sure", we still take some hope that Apple is true to their word and the 4.0.1 update puts things right.

Consumer Report can't recommend iPhone 4, but gives it top marks?

ImageIt what must feel like something akin to a kick in the nards for Apple, Consumer Report does not recommend the iPhone 4. Consumer Report, known for being an unbiased and fair source of information on consumer products, feels that the reception problems associated with the iPhone 4's touchy antenna means it fails to get full marks.

"Dear iPhone 4 Users"; Apple Addresses Reception Issues

After much hullabaloo and controversy (not to mention class legal action) about Apple's iPhone 4 and its problematic signal strength, Apple has finally spoken up with a response, released today in the form of a letter for all iPhone 4 owners. The issue of iPhone 4's troubles with signal strength has plagued Apple since its release day (despite 1.7m iPhone 4's being sold), and in this letter they explain both the source of the receptivity issues as well as discussing their plan for what they intend to do... and it might surprise you to find out where they place the blame.

Snarky emails to and from Steve Jobs

ImageNo-one ever accused Steve Jobs of being "Mister Friendly" and, given his responses to the recent issues arising around the iPhone 4 reception (to which he responds "avoid holding it that way"). If you want to make a villain look like a hero, however, the best way to do that is to be a bigger jacknozzle than the guy you're trying to vilify.
